Transportation Operations Manager

An operations leadership role for an asset-based trucking and distribution carrier, running the Calgary terminal. You'll own dispatch, driver management, and fleet utilization — balancing service, safety, cost, and on-time performance across a regional and long-haul lane network.
What you'll be doing
- Lead daily dispatch and load planning to maximize fleet utilization and on-time service
- Manage, coach, and retain a team of drivers and dispatchers
- Own terminal KPIs: service, safety, empty miles, and cost per mile
- Ensure compliance with DOT/NSC hours-of-service and safety regulations
- Partner with sales and customer service to meet shipper commitments
- Drive continuous improvement across routing, yard, and driver workflows
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in transportation/fleet operations, with 2+ in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of dispatch, load planning, and DOT/NSC compliance
- Proven people leadership in a driver-facing environment
- Data-driven approach to utilization, service, and cost metrics
- Experience with a TMS and telematics platforms
Compensation & benefits
- $95,000 - $120,000 CAD
