Load Booking Agent

An onsite Hamilton role with a global freight forwarder and 3PL expanding their office. You would book freight with approved carriers, negotiate rates and keep shipments moving across cross-border and domestic US lanes.
Schedule & location
Onsite in Hamilton, Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm. After-hours coverage on a rotation basis.
What you'll be doing
- Book freight loads with approved carriers
- Negotiate competitive freight rates while maintaining service quality
- Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with carriers
- Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate delays or issues
- Ensure all shipment information is entered accurately into the TMS
- Maintain regular communication with dispatchers, carriers and internal operations
- Build and maintain strong carrier and transportation-partner relationships
- Verify carrier compliance — insurance, safety ratings and contracts
- Resolve appointment changes, delays, detention and service failures
- Support capacity planning through peak periods
What we're looking for
- At least three years booking cross-border and domestic US loads
- Confident negotiator who holds service quality while working the rate
- Strong written and email communication
- Comfortable in office five days a week and with after-hours rotation
